The best way to prove who you are online.

RealMe verified identity lets you prove who you are in all sorts of situations.

It’s more involved than getting a RealMe login, but the pay-off is that you can use your RealMe verified identity to open a bank account, apply for a replacement drivers licence and a whole lot more.

There are two ways to apply.

Option 1

Apply with a New Zealand passport or citizenship certificate.

Tips for taking your own photo

You can apply for a verified identity online with a New Zealand passport or New Zealand citizenship certificate, providing your passport or citizenship certificate was issued within the last 12 years.

Then take your own photo, or get one taken for free at a participating photo store.

If you’re aged 13 or younger, your parent or legal guardian willl need to give their written consent in order for you to complete your application. You’ll also need to take them with you if you’re getting your photo taken at a store.

Option 2

Apply with New Zealand immigration or New Zealand birth certificate details.

Find your nearest photo store

You can also apply for your verified identity with your New Zealand immigration or New Zealand birth certificate details. Start the process online, then visit a participating photo store to finish your application.

If you’re aged 13 or younger, your parent or legal guardian will need to give their written consent in order for you to complete your application. You’ll also need to take them with you to the photo store.
